Jig coal preparation technology has a history of more than 100 years and is a mature coal preparation method. Jigging coal preparation is a coal preparation process carried out in a vertically pulsating medium according to the difference in particle density. The medium for jig coal preparation is water or air, and some also use suspension.

Jigging coal washing technology has the advantages of simple process flow, large production capacity, convenient maintenance and management, and low production cost. It is suitable for processing extremely easy to select, easy to select, and medium selectable coal. The upper limit of sorting can reach 50-100mm, and the lower limit of sorting is 0.3-0.5mm, that is, it can be selected in grade or not. The sorting efficiency of the jig coal preparation method is greatly affected by the properties of the material. Under the conditions of more fine-grained materials and poor selectivity, the sorting efficiency will drop significantly. Jigging is equivalent to heavy medium selection, but when low-ash clean coal is required, if the sorting density is lower than 1.4g/cm3, it may be difficult to operate the jig due to the difficulty of selectivity, and the normal sorting effect cannot be guaranteed.

In recent years, with the research and application of new technologies, the jig coal cleaning technology has also made great progress, mainly in that the structure of the jig is more scientific and reasonable, the automation level is becoming more perfect, and the separation effect is further improved. Today’s jigs have developed from mechanization to automation and intelligence, which better meets the process requirements, and the quantity and efficiency of jig coal cleaning are closer to the theoretical value.
