How effective is a hydraulic cyclone for sand washing?
September.05,2025
The working principle is that when water under a certain pressure enters the desander tangentially through the inlet, it generates a strong rotational motion. Due to the different densities of sand and water, the combined effects of centrifugal force, centripetal force, buoyancy, and fluid drag cause the low-density water to rise and be discharged through the outlet, while the denser sand particles are discharged through the drain outlet at the bottom of the device, thereby achieving the desired sand removal effect.
Hydraulic cyclones offer advantages such as high sand removal rates, space-saving installation, low leakage of individual fine solids, and stable operation.
Hydraulic cyclones can quickly remove dust and clay from sand and achieve optimal gradation.
Compared to wheel sand washers and spiral sand washers, hydraulic cyclones offer energy-saving advantages.
