Due to the many unfavorable conditions of coal slime, such as high moisture, high viscosity, high water holding capacity and low calorific value, it is difficult to realize industrial application. It has long been rejected by power users and has been mainly sold for civilian use. Since the reform and opening up, the national economy has developed rapidly, coal production has jumped to the first place in the world, and the market situation has also changed greatly. The depth and breadth of coal processing are developing rapidly, the output of coal slime has increased significantly, and the comprehensive utilization of coal slime has become an urgent problem to be solved.

With the continuous development of industrial science and technology in my country, the remaining coal slime has been well utilized. The coal slime dryer adopts a new technology of crushing and dispersing the coal slime first and then thermally drying it, so that the treatment of coal slime can be realized continuously, industrialized, and automated. After the coal slime drying process, the moisture content of the coal slime can be reduced from 25% to 28% to about 12%. Due to the introduction of pre-crushing, dispersion, breaking up, and anti-sticking wall processes in the coal slime drying process, the drying efficiency of the coal slime has been greatly improved, and it has also brought new vitality to the coal slime drying industry.

The dried coal slime can be mainly used in the following aspects:
1. As raw material to process coal slime briquette for industrial boilers or residents’ daily use;

2. As fuel for foundry industry in power plants to improve fuel utilization, reduce production costs and increase economic benefits;

3. As an additive in brick factories to increase the hardness and compressive strength of bricks; 4. As an additive in cement plants to improve cement performance; 5. Coal slime containing certain specific ingredients can be used as chemical raw materials.
