Kaolin bleaching and purification
Changing the valence state of harmful elements in kaolin, convert them into soluble substances, and then wash and remove them, such as converting the insoluble iron into soluble iron, and removing it through the washing process.
Purpose of bleaching: remove iron-containing impurities and greatly improve the whiteness of kaolin products.
Commonly used equipment or reagents: sodium hypochlorite, potassium permanganate and hydrogen peroxide, sodium dithionite, oxalic acid, etc.
The production cost of chemical bleaching is relatively high, and it is mostly used for further purification of kaolin concentrate after impurities removal.
Magnetic separation
Iron mineral impurities in kaolin usually have weak magnetism and can be removed by magnetic separation. Strong magnetic minerals such as magnetite and ilmenite can be removed by ordinary magnetic separation. For weak magnetic minerals, high-gradient strong magnetic field magnetic separation can be used. This method can remove weak magnetic fine particles and colloidal particles in iron minerals, and can also separate micron-level paramagnetic materials; weak magnetic minerals can also be roasted to convert them into strong magnetic iron oxides, and then magnetic separation can be performed.
LZZG provides kaolin, sodium feldspar, quartz and other non-metallic mineral beneficiation tests, mineral analysis, process design, plant construction and whole-line engineering solutions, and tailings dry discharge solutions.
